Exclusively for those who purchase all modules
Since 1982, Wp Lavori in Corso has contributed to defining the identity of multiple generations in terms of style and design, offering authenticity, quality and flair for international niche brands. After 40 years of research, WP has opened to the public a space with more than 80,000 items of clothing, 5500 books and various accessories, completed by the acquisition of the fund belonging to the stylist Gianfranco Ferré.
Usually accessible exclusively to scholars, researchers and professionals in the sector, the WP historical archive will be the protagonist of the final project work of the course. Thanks to the exchange of views with Gaia Vitolo – Archive Manager – and with her team, the participants will have the opportunity to put into practice the skills acquired in the development of a cataloguing project of the paper documentation accumulated by the company during its numerous collaborations with important international brands in the streetwear and workwear sector.
The modules of “Archives of Fashion”, in its formula in thematic modules, are designed both for professionals looking for an update and for graduates and fashion students interested in acquiring the basic skills for the establishment, management and valorization of a sector archive.
IT’S FOR YOU IF
you are a professional looking for solutions to enhance the cultural heritage of your company;
A FACULTY OF RELEVANCE
Among the strong points of Fashion Archives , there is certainly the teaching staff made up of some of the most esteemed consultants in the sector who daily support the brands to valorize their heritage but also of well-known conservators who bring their experience into the classroom to disseminate good cataloguing and conservation practices. Finally, there will be no shortage of testimonies from representatives of important corporate archives and museums, who have distinguished themselves in the Italian fashion heritage panorama.
TEXTILE DESIGN ARCHIVE
Students will have the exclusive opportunity to visit the FRI.F textile design archive: over 30,000 drawings on paper and fabric, dated between the mid-19th century and the first decade of the 2000s, a precious source of inspiration for style offices and designers from the fashion sector to whom access is normally restricted. After a visit to the spaces dedicated to the museum exhibition and conservation of this incredible textile heritage and a detailed account of the different collections that compose it, they will have the opportunity to try their hand at a cataloguing laboratory of its most iconic pieces.
