  • CURATING: An exploration of the process and channels of visual communication design through art curation and archives.

  • TRENDS: Is vintage really a trend? What is the meaning of “vintage”? What is the interaction between vintage, society, fashion, and industry? What is vintage style and what are its different nuances and the contexts in which it manifests itself in contemporary consumer society

  • ROOTS IN THE FUTURE: After defining the term vintage and analysing the evolution of the phenomenon in the history of a brand, we will continue by examining how this trend finds application in the world of publishing and communication. In this context, anticipating changing trends is crucial. What is the connection between publishing and vintage, a fashion that uses the past to look to the future?

Fashion Storytelling: Heritage and Corporate Social Responsibility

Fashion company case histories will be presented to demonstrate how historical archives become storytellers and the basis for online and offline Heritage exhibitions and events. Every brand has a different narrative approach, ranging from engaging narratives (Zegna) to personal narratives (Ferragamo) or timeless myths (Borsalino, Chanel).The role of archives in valorising historic brands, the importance of corporate social responsibility, and the need to translate content into contemporary and empathetic languages ​​will be discussed.

Communicating Fashion, from Analog to Digital

The creation and development of the online publication Frizzifrizzi provides a chance to investigate modern storytelling and communication techniques. The narrative combines personal experience and theoretical and practical reflections, demonstrating how visual culture, objects, and archives can become narrative tools.The analysis focuses on the elements that constitute  effective storytelling—from editing to hypertext, from creative errors to unexpected connections—highlighting the role of stories in constructing meaning, community, and identity.

Every facet of a product, from conception to finished manufacturing, is recorded in the Ferragamo Archive. The Archive includes footwear, bags, small leather goods, clothing, and silk accessories, as well as documents, patents, photographs, films, and works of art.

The Archive is a place that showcases history and serves as a source of inspiration for clients and the design team. It preserves and displays the entire textile collection: more than 80,000 fabrics, in thousands of colours, patterns, yarns, designs, and finishes, accumulated from 1943 to the present.
